Note that no files are uploaded to any servers. So you can share the result without problem.

Easy to use

Simply select an image on your computer or drag it to start converting. Yes, it’s so easy. SVG preview will be created after your image is uploaded to your browser.

Quick preview

To speed up the tests SVG is generated from a preview of 400 pixels, which will allow you to estimate the approximate result. You will receive a preview almost immediately after changing the settings.

Qualitative result

When you download the trace, it comes from a full-size image, so you won’t lose any details. We do not limit the size of the image.

Experiment and share the results

You can choose the most suitable one of the 15 tracing options. Or you can choose the one you want.Don’t forget to share this option with us! We will add the best options to the list of available options!

For beginners and professionals

You can select preset settings or make fine adjustments with 20 different settings, from the number of colors in the SVG to the thickness of the curves. Experiment.

No need to download any software

There are a huge number of tracing applications, we do it without any problems, just select the file, upload it and download the result!

FAQ for using PNG to SVG converter

Q: What can I do with this service?

You can trace your PNG to SVG.

Q: What image formats can I upload for conversion?

Currently, PNG images are supported.

Q: What image formats can I convert to?

This converter only supports SVG. But you can use online vector converter to convert SVG to any other vector format, such as SVG to PDF.

Q: What is SVG?

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is a scalable vector graphics language created by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and based on XML format, designed to describe 2D vector and mixed vector/raster graphics. Supports both fixed and animated interactive graphics – or, in other terms, declarative and script graphics. This is an open standard, which is a recommendation of the W3C consortium. It has been developed since 1999. In 2001, version 1.0 was released, in 2011 – version 1.1, which is currently valid.

Q: Why do I need SVG at all?

Since the SVG format is open and recommended for use, this format will be the best option when working with the vector. Here are some of its advantages:

  • Small file sizes. And since it is inherently text-based, it allows you to get good compression results;
  • Any vector is well scaled, so your graphics will look good on any screen;
  • Many filters are supported and you can use interactive elements. All this leads to a unique SVG format.

Q: What is tracing from PNG to SVG?

Tracing PNG or “vectorization” is the transformation of an image from a raster file to a vector one. There is a huge quantity of tracers, both paid and free, and working in an offline and online. We try to provide the most flexible interfaces for conversion.

Q: When vectorization to SVG is used?

It is used, as a rule, in case the PNG image needs to convert for use the image in a vector graphics editor. Basically, vectorization is used to improve image quality (logo, favicon and other), to create an image that can be scaled without loss of quality, if further image processing will be carried out on special equipment, such as plotters, CNC machines.

Q: What if I got a huge SVG file size, what do I do next?

First, try different settings.

Usually the huge size is obtained only on photographic images. But if the size doesn’t suit you, first try to perform optimization. For this we have a great service: minify SVG.

Q: What is PNG?

The Portable Network Graphics (PNG) format was designed to replace the old and simpler GIF format and, to some extent, the much more complex TIFF format. PNG is an open file format for storing raster images without loss. PNG provides a patent-free replacement for GIF and can also replace many common TIFF uses. Indexed, grayscale and true color images are supported, as well as an additional alpha channel for transparency.
